Your First Hammam: What Happens, Step by Step

Wellness28 January 20266 min read

Steam, black soap, the kessa mitt, the rhassoul wrap. A guide to the ninety minutes.

The hammam ritual is old. It is also warmer, more intense and more physically hands-on than most Western spa treatments. Knowing what to expect makes it a better experience.

You start with fifteen minutes of steam so your pores and muscles soften. Then the therapist applies savon noir, a black olive soap, and lets it sit for ten minutes.

The kessa mitt is where most people are surprised. It is a deep, thorough exfoliation. You will see the difference on your skin before you leave the room.

Finally, the rhassoul clay wrap, a warm rinse, and argan oil. Tea afterwards, always.

Make roomfor the ritual.

Come experience the house for yourself.
